Dr Afiniki Akanet

Hello, and thank you for your interest

This website provides information about me and my work. I love encouraging people to make the most of their opportunities and achieve their goals in life. Please read about and support the work of Forte, Charity for Inspiration in Africa, which was awarded the African Philanthropy Achievers Award in the youth development category, and celebrated our ten year anniversary in October 2018.

As someone who has had to overcome many challenges in life, as shared in my first book Fortitude, I am passionate about encouraging young people to keep going despite their challenges. You can also get my inspirational books from this website (also from Amazon and Waterstones) and email me your comments: drakanet@yahoo.com

My latest book, Life Without Coffee (Choosing Happiness Over Stress) was released on May 21, 2017. It is a self-improvement book for anyone that wants to do better, and is available now from the Life Without Coffee page on this website. You can also read my latest articles on the articles/blog page of this website.

Please like my Facebook page - https://www.facebook.com/drakanet, follow @AAkanet on Twitter and Instagram, and/or subscribe to newsletters (further down on this page) to see photos and keep in touch. Thank you for your support.

Best wishes,

Review of Life Without Coffee by Prof S. Kumar (Dean of Warwick Medical School):

"The author is a great role model as a doctor, entrepreneur and mother. Using the same 24 hours we all have, she has managed to obtain balance between all of these roles and explains how she goes about doing this. This is a motivational book based on the authors own life experiences and her positive attitudes and approach comes across clearly. There are practical tips on how to live a fulfilling and contented life and whether or not you want to drink coffee does not matter despite the title."

Thank you for all your fantastic book reviews and support! x

Join me on my monthly challenge for 2018, to read one new book every month, and have one new experience/activity for every month of 2018. It has been fun getting ideas for new books and experiences from friends/readers, trying to make time to read, scheduling time in my diary and building courage for doing something I have never done before. I feel it is helping me to grow as a person and make time for things I always wanted to do. There will be a monthly update about this on my Facebook.com/drakanet page. I would love to hear how you get on too, if you do this.
